NAFLD score is based on several laboratory tests that help to estimate the amount of scarring in the liver.
NAFLD Fibrosis score is calculated with the following parmeters:
Weight: Weight of the person in "Kgs". Weight (along with Height) is used for calculating BMI.
Height: Height of the person in "Cms".
IGF/Diabetes: Refers to the existence of impaired fasting glucose. Select "Yes" if the patient is diabetic. Otherwise select "No".
Platelets: Platelet levels predict nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and a decreased peripheral count is associated with liver fibrosis.
AST/SGOT: The Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), also known as serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) level in the blood. This is released when liver or heart tissue is damaged.
ALT/SGPT: The Alanine Aminotransferase (AST), also known as serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) level in the blood. This enzyme is also released when liver or heart tissue is damaged.
Albumin: Albumin level to be entered in g/dL. Albumin is a protein produced in Liver, with normal levels between 3.4 g/dL and 5.4 g/dL.
